This was definitely an Epic Weekend In Pictures! To think that Sunday is my last day off until Thanksgiving morning is definitely humbling and eye opening. Knowing that I'm working next weekend doing our annual Stuff The Bus local food drive, I wanted to get far away from work and have some fun. Mission accomplished! Friday night Girlfriend Brooks and I were planning on seeing our Seeing Eye Puppy Dog friends. Late Friday afternoon Brooks texted me asking if it was okay for us to skip. I was definitely run down from work, and happy to just have a quiet night in Hackettstown. Home Alone and Home Alone 2 ended up playing on television. We were happy to watch it. Here is my annual hot take: I like Home Alone 2 better than Home Alone! Yes, I said it! Home Alone 2 has more of a plot, more fun trash talking back and forth between Kevin with Harry and Marv, better scenery with the New York City backdrop, and more. I like Home Alone 2 better than Home Alone! I'm sticking to it!
It's tough watching Christmas movies this year. I used to love watching Christmas movies with my late sister, Suzanne. Zannie and I often had similar tastes with our Christmas movies, whether it be The Jim Carrey Grinch, Home Alone, Elf, or more. The funny parts of Christmas movies haven't been as funny. The tearful family reunion moments honestly make me cry and sad. I'm hopeful that Christmas movies become a little easier for me to watch. I'm very happy and thankful that I had Girlfriend Brooks to watch the movie with me and be so supportive. Friday night we cooked some delicious Cape Cod Cafe frozen pepperoni pizza and it was just what the doctor ordered for us. Overall I had a good, quiet Friday night in Hackettstown.
Saturday morning I did some fun errands around Hackettstown before venturing up to The Irish Cottage Inn to see besties Artie and friends. At one point I was closing out and Artie said to me "Steve, why are you guarding your pen as if it is yours?" I responded to him that it indeed was my pen. Yes, I'm a nerd who carries a pen on him basically 24/7. People saw that during the pandemic and thought I was ahead of the curve. Nope. I'm just a nerd who always has a pen on him. We had fun discussing our tailgating plans for the Giants game.

Sunday morning I was up by 5:40am ahead of my 6am wake up alarm. I hopped right in the shower, and started layering up for the New York Giants game. I'm so happy with what I wore! I wore an Under Armour heat gear shirt, my 3 quarter sleeve Pearl Jam in Fenway concert shirt, with my white Under Armour Hoodie on top of that. I'm very happy that I had all those layers on, because this was a very intense tailgate and game. That wind was intense! That was definitely the windiest New York Giants game I have ever been to. Of course The Giants lost again. Ugh.
The only game I have been to that was windier than yesterday was an early 90s Patriots vs Jets game up in Foxborough, Massachusetts where it was a monsoon. No exaggerating, it was really a monsoon. Our then kicker Scott Sisson who everyone nicknamed "Missin Sisson," attempted a would be record for an NFL Field goal with the 70 miles per hour wind at his back, only to still miss wide of the uprights. If you ever hear Boomer Esiasion talk about the worst weather game he ever played in, that was the game I went to! I think the New York Jets beat us 6-0 that game. I wore a trash bag for cover.
Sunday our D6 Tailgate crew was ready to rock, despite the elements. They fried two turkeys, prime rib, and a whole bunch of other yummy, delicious food too! I had so much fun running into old friends and making new ones too! The tailgate was a major success, despite the intense wind. It was freezing out yesterday because of that wind. I was beat. Early night in for me, but we had so many fun memories all weekend long.
Those Giants again should have and could have won, but didn't.
I had fun with Green Bay Packers fans, who want to get rid of their coach too. I always end up making new friends at MetLife Stadium whenever I go to Giants games.
Time to start planning next weekend for Stuff The Bus! Saturday I'll be at ShopRite in Sussex, and Sunday I'll be at ShopRite in Byram! Let's go!
