Market 32 and Price Chopper have launched a summer food drive to support local food pantries across their six-state footprint. From June 15 to July 5, 2025, customers can purchase a $10 bag filled with PICS brand items at any of the 129 participating stores. These bags contain essential items such as elbow macaroni, peanut butter, chicken noodle soup, tuna, kidney beans, and chunk chicken, which will be donated to local food pantries.

The bags are prominently displayed at the front of each store, accompanied by a sign indicating the name of the pantry that will receive the donations. As schools break for summer, many families lose access to daily meal programs, creating a gap in nutritional food. This initiative aims to bridge that gap by providing much-needed supplies to those in need.

Pam Cerrone, the director of community relations for Market 32 and Price Chopper, emphasized the importance of the drive, stating, "Summer should be a time of fun and freedom, not hunger." Each store will work directly with a local food pantry to ensure that the donations benefit the community effectively. The drive allows shoppers to make an immediate impact and help pantries serve people in their neighborhoods.

According to News10, this effort highlights the importance of community support during times when access to food becomes more challenging for some families.
