Selena Gomez is very grateful for the endless opportunities her career has brought her, and she knows exactly where it all started.
The star (accompanied by her sister, Gracie, 11) shined at the premiere of spin-off series Wizards Beyond Waverly Place on Monday (October 28), revealing how excited she was to reprise her role as Alex Russo and how nostalgic the event made her feel towards the original series.
Gomez told People:
"It's the best feeling in the whole world to be able to bring this back for you and to all the people who have never seen it before. My sister included. I've made her watch it. I don't think she's that into it, but I was so genuinely happy to be able to just bring the nostalgia back."
The Only Murders in the Building standout continued, praising the show that skyrocketed her to stardom and how thankful she is for it all.
"This is what gave me everything that I have today, and I'll never forget that this is where I started."
Gomez starred in Wizards of Waverly Place for four seasons from 2007 to 2012 alongside co-star David Henrie (also featured in the beloved series' spin-off once again as her brother, Justin Russo).
Wizards Beyond Waverly Place will air on Disney Channel on Tuesday (October 29). The first nine episodes of the series, featuring all-too-familiar mischief and magic, will be available to stream on Disney+ the following day!
