Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended their final royal engagement earlier in the week. Despite a chilly reunion with Prince William and Kate Middleton—the Duchess of Cambridge is believed to have taken all the drama "badly"—the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are still feeling good about their decision to step down.
Even though Harry and Meghan are excited about what's next for them, there were still some bittersweet aspects of their departure, including Harry and William's fractured brotherhood. "[Their relationship is] forever changed," a source told People. "They won’t get back to the way they were. Harry is looking straight ahead at his future with his family."
Following their departure from royal life, Harry and Meghan "will be spending time in California and in Canada." While it's unfortunate that Harry and William have grown apart over past couple years, Harry is reportedly "not looking back" as he forges his new life in North America.
"This is what Meghan and Harry have always wanted—to create their own life," the source continued. "It’s got to feel like an immense relief to get out of the U.K. and go down their own path."
