Nicki Minaj Returns To Twitter With Cryptic Message After Tour Confusion

Nicki Minaj may still be M.I.A., but at least she's back on social media.

To her fans' delight, the "Good Form" rapper returned to Twitter after weeks of silence with a cryptic message that appeared to hint new music is on the way. "Megatron," she simply tweeted on Wednesday (June 12). Nicki additionally posted the word on her Instagram Story. While it's not yet known what the phrase means, Nicki previously rapped about Megatron, a nickname she used to refer to herself, on Future's 2018 track "Transformer."

"Some call me Nicki but some call me Megatron/ I'm stoppin' bags and I don't need a red octagon," she rapped.

As fans know, Nicki's posts came two days after Live Nation released the tour dates for what was rumored to be her and Chris Brown's joint Summer Tour. However, her name was not listed on the announcement. Immediately fans began to speculate about Nicki's absence, with some saying she either dropped out of the tour or was dropped by Chris. But on Wednesday, sources told TMZ, "Nicki never signed on to Chris' tour in any capacity." While the two artists discussed touring together after their G-Eazy collab, "talks never materialized into a deal." The insider added, Nicki was the one who "decided the tour wasn't for her, but not because she had beef with Chris. Her reasons were several, she was working on music and a tour would have cut into her studio time, and she just wrapped her European tour and going out on the road again was too much."

As previously reported, the "Hard White" rapper and "No Guidance" singer were reportedly gearing up for a joint Summer Tour. In April, Variety broke the news that the entertainers, who recently linked up on G-Eazy's single "Wobble Up," would be going on tour this Fall. However, hours later, Chris appeared to confirm that the joint tour would actually be this Summer. "The tour will not be in the fall!!!!!!! It is in the Summer! This Summer," he wrote on his Instagram Story following Variety's announcement.
