The American Cancer Society is kicking off the 30th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer season in Central Valley, N.Y. Event organizers will host a celebration and noncompetitive 2.1 mile walk throughout Woodbury Common in a supportive environment for courageous breast cancer survivors and metastatic breast cancer thrivers, caregivers and families alike. The walk is held on Super Strides Sunday on Oct. 19, where the "Making Strides" movement includes numerous walks across the nation, supporting breast cancer patients and research.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States, except for skin cancers. In 2025, more than 319,750 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in the U.S., and in New York, 19,170 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer.           Breast Cancer affects men too. In the last 30 years, ACS has invested more than $600M in breast cancer research. Since 1993, the American Cancer Society MSABC campaign has united communities, companies and individuals with a collective goal to end breast cancer as we know it, for everyone. The campaign is the nation’s largest and most impactful breast cancer movement. Visit MakingStridesWalk.org/hudsonvalley.
