CELEBRATION OF LIGHTS HOLIDAY VILLAGE FESTIVAL
Kick off the holiday season in Poughkeepsie at Dongan Square!
6pm-9pm (Fireworks at 8:20)
Food trucks, brass bands, dancers, carolers, a tree lighting, Santa Claus and a Fireworks finale!
Poughkeepsie will have a Holiday event this year, and we want you there! Our traditional parade is OFF. Instead, we are creating a One-of-a-Kind pageantry event in our downtown Poughkeepsie’s Little Italy (Dongan Place). A “Renewable Holiday Village” that quickly evolves into a Holiday event that highlights Recyclables and Renewables in a festive mood of community celebration.
Light poles and buildings decorated with lights ornaments recycled materials. They combine old and the new, upcycling with craft and traditional forms. The old is renewed in our renewable Holiday Village. The storefronts and business will display handmade standards, pennants, streamers, banners, illustrating the diverse known solutions to climate change all in keeping with the customary holiday fare.
