Ed Sheeran is serious about his ketchup, so much that he's teamed with Heinz for a commercial professing his love for the condiment.
In a new ad, unveiled on Tuesday (June 18), the singer-songwriter finds himself at a "super post restaurant," the sort of lavish eatery with "chandeliers and paintings on the wall and way too many forks," Sheeran narrates in the clip.
As the 28-year-old takes a seat at his table, his waiter approaches him with a list of extravagant menu items โ โsuper fancy, fancy vegetables, fancy sauces" and such โ to which he inexpressively replies, "Sounds fancy."
The "I Don't Care" star settles on the โfarm to table blah blah blah posh and fancy blah blah blah with a side of blah blah blah,โ but quickly realizes "there was something missing."
That's when Sheeran reaches into his bag for "the only thing that can complete me" โ a fresh bottle of Heinz ketchup โ much to the astonishment of the restaurant, which goes silent as the waiter screams "through his eyes."
โSo thatโs my idea. Do you want to do it?โ Sheeran raises the proposal to conclude the commercial, to which Heinz happily agreed.
"Okay guyz, so it actually happened. I sent a voice note to @heinz, and we made a whole tv spot around it," Sheeran wrote on Instagram to celebrate the ad. "This is pretty much what I was aiming for in life. Ketchup ad > stadium tour."
As we previously reported, the musician unveiled the Heinz ketchup project a few weeks ago, with his new "Edchup" collab now going for $5 a bottle โ but only for a limited time, Sheerios!
